Online healthcare has a reputation problem, and some of it is earned. This page sets out who regulates us, how we decide whether treatment is right for you, and what we will and won’t do, so you don’t have to take our word for it.
Who regulates us
Four independent bodies each check a different part of your care.
- Care Quality Commission (CQC): regulates Manova as a healthcare provider. Manova Health Limited is registered with the CQC for the treatment of disease, disorder or injury, provider ID 1-24107057386. Our Registered Manager is Naeem Teni.
- General Medical Council (GMC) and General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC): every clinician who prescribes for Manova is on one of these public registers. You can check each registration number on our Our Clinicians page.
- Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA): licenses the medicines our clinicians prescribe and runs the Yellow Card scheme for reporting side effects.
- Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): oversees how we handle your personal data. We’re registered with the ICO, registration number ZB911971.
Before anything is prescribed
- A clinician reviews every case. A UK-registered clinician reads your assessment before any treatment is prescribed. No algorithm approves anyone on its own.
- We look at the whole picture. Your medical history, other conditions and any medicines you already take, because some treatments aren’t safe alongside them.
- We’re allowed to say no, and we do. If treatment isn’t right for you, your clinician will explain why and may point you to your GP instead. You’ll get a full refund.
- Adults only. Our service is for people aged 18 and over living in the UK.
Once you’re on treatment
- Your treatment is reviewed over time, and doses are only changed after a clinician has looked at how you’re getting on.
- If you have a side effect or anything worries you, contact our support team and we’ll make sure it’s looked at.
- You can report suspected side effects directly to the MHRA through the Yellow Card scheme.
- You can cancel at any time. If stopping suddenly isn’t a good idea for your treatment, we’ll tell you how to do it safely.
How we run things behind the scenes
- Clinical leadership. Our Medical Director, Dr. Feroz Zafar (GMC 7266874), and our Clinical Lead, Naeem Teni (GPhC 2215591), are responsible for the prescribing protocols every Manova clinician works to.
- Protocols based on national guidance. Our prescribing policies follow national guidance, including NICE, and are reviewed regularly.
- Audits and learning. We audit prescribing decisions, record incidents and near misses, and use what we learn to improve.
- Safeguarding. Our team is trained to recognise and act on safeguarding concerns.
- Duty of candour. If something goes wrong with your care, we’ll tell you openly and honestly, apologise, and explain what we’re doing to put it right.
What we won’t do
- Let you choose a prescription medicine before a clinician has decided it’s right for you.
- Use fake reviews, invented patient stories or before-and-after photos.
- Pay influencers to promote prescription treatments.
- Keep you subscribed to something you don’t need.
- Prescribe controlled drugs online.
- Sell your data, or use your health information for marketing.
How we advertise
We advertise a clinical service, not medicines. We don’t promote prescription medicines in adverts or on social media, and we keep evidence on file for the claims we make about our service.
Your data
Your health information is confidential and is only used to assess and treat you, and to meet our legal duties. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly what we collect, who we share it with and your rights.
If something isn’t right
Please tell us. Email [email protected] (8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday) or write to Manova Health Limited, Business First, Northlight Parade, Brierfield, Nelson, BB9 5EG. We’ll acknowledge your complaint within 3 working days and aim to give you a full response within 20 working days.
If you’re still unhappy after our final response, you can share your experience with the CQC. Concerns about an individual clinician can be raised with the GMC or GPhC.
Urgent help
Manova isn’t an emergency service. If you need urgent medical advice, call NHS 111. In an emergency, call 999.
